Lessons

I start teaching kids around age 4 and I teach adults too! My focus is to provide the skills each swimmer needs at their own personal level. I see the most improvement with one on one lessons.

I teach swimmers how to swim with their head down and breathing to the side (like the photo in the circle). In an emergency, I believe this is the most efficient way to get to safety without using too much energy. Swimming with your head up uses much more energy so I try to teach side breathing as soon as I can, even to younger kids.

For the younger swimmers, I practice showing them how to climb out of the pool on their own as well as “crabby crawl” along the side of the pool until they can get to stairs and safely exit the pool.

I leave the last couple minutes to go down my slide, jump off the “cliff” or dive for toys. These swimmers work hard and I want them to leave happy and proud!

Please use the restroom and apply sunscreen before leaving your home. Please bring goggles that fit your swimmers face. I have fun things for them to look at underwater. Please use the gate to the left of my house to enter and exit. Applying sunscreen right before getting in the pool just washes into my pool and makes it yucky.

See you at the pool!
